5052 Marine Grade Aluminum Tubing / High Strength Marine Grade Aluminum Pipe
Marine Grade Aluminum Tubing
Aluminum material must be able to resist corrosive effects that are common in a sea water environment.
There are several different grades of aluminum that are suitable for marine conditions.
Marine grade aluminum, for the most part, is limited to the 5000 and 6000 series aluminum alloy.
Grade 5052 is an excellent marine grade for when formability is required.
If strength is more of a concern, grade 5083 is a good alternative.
This is the highest strength alloy of the more non heat-treatable grades.
Alloy 5052 has a good resistance to marine atmosphere and salt water corrosion, and excellent workability.
It can be easily drawn or formed into intricate shapes.
